Pina-SP Redesign – UX/UI Concept Project
In 2023, I developed a redesign concept for the digital experience of the Pinacoteca de São Paulo, one of Brazil’s most iconic museums. The goal was to create a new interface that reflects the institution’s contemporary identity while making its exhibitions, collections, and activities more accessible to a wider audience.
Narrative and Purpose
The project began with a focus on the emotional connection between the public and the museum — a space where art, history, and everyday life converge. This redesign was driven by the desire to translate the museum’s warm, sensory experience into the digital space, creating an intuitive, fluid, and inspiring user journey.
Visual Concept
The interface design was grounded in three core visual principles:
Neutral elegance, using white, gray, and earthy tones to echo the building’s classic architecture and the materiality of art.
Editorial typography, inspired by institutional publications and art catalogues, reinforcing the museum’s cultural and serious tone.
Breathing space, with generous margins, high-resolution images, and clean navigation that places art at the center of the experience.
Key Features
A dynamic homepage featuring current exhibitions and events.
A collection section with simple filters, allowing users to browse artworks, artists, and themes with ease.
An integrated calendar showcasing workshops, lectures, and guided tours, with easy access to ticket purchases.
A mobile-first layout designed especially for tourists and visitors on the go.
Outcome
Though the project includes a limited number of screens, it proposes a refreshed vision for the museum’s digital presence: more accessible, more inspiring, and more aligned with its mission to share Brazilian art with depth and lightness.
This redesign is not just a visual concept — it’s an invitation to explore the museum with your eyes and your fingertips, wherever you are.
